Come check out the Constitution Week display and the goodie bags for the kids!  This event is a tradition to celebrate the Consitution, which began thanks to the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Since 1955, the week of September 17th - September 23rd has been dedicated to observing Constitution Week.  Congress signed this into law in 1956.  The goals for the celebration are to (1) emphasize the citizen's responsibilities for protecting and defending the Constitution, (2) inform people that the Constitution is the basis for America's great heritage and the foundation of our way of life, and (3) encourage the study of historical events which led to the framing of the Constitution in 1787.
