Archery

The Archery Program is led by Phil Cater. 

Baseball

A head coach is selected for each team determined by the Parks and Rec staff. Assistant coaches can then be chosen by the head coach. Both head coaches and assistant coaches must have a background screen and complete Coach Safely Training.

Cheerleading

Parents can register to coach cheer when registering their child on Rec Desk. No prior experience is needed. The cheerleaders and coaches will attend a Cheer Camp at the start of the season to learn some cheers, band dance, and halftime routine. You can find more material for youth cheers on YouTube. Cheer coaches must have a background screen complete after registering. 

Tackle Football

You must submit an application to be the Head Coach of Tackle Football. The Parks and Rec administration will then vote on and select the head coach. Assistant coaches can then be selected with the head coach's approval. Both head coaches and assistant coaches must have a background screen and complete Coach Safely Training. 

Flag Football

Parents can register to coach cheer when registering their child on Rec Desk. No prior experience is needed. The football players and coaches will attend a Football Camp at the start of the season to learn the basics and rules of the game.  Flag football coaches must have a background screen complete after registering and complete Coach Safely Training.

Softball

A head coach is selected for each team determined by the Parks and Rec staff. Assistant coaches can then be chosen by the head coach. Both head coaches and assistant coaches must have a background screen and complete Coach Safely Training.

Volleyball

The coaches for Volleyball are a selected group of paid coaches that have ample experience with the sport. Assistant coaching opportunities are available with adequate training. Coaches must have a background screen and complete Coach Safely Training. 

Wrestling

Phillip and Tiffany Bolen head our Youth Wrestling teams. Our youth wrestling program will compete in local and regional tournaments hosted by the Alabama Youth Wrestling Organization (AWYO) is a chapter under the AAU.
