Volleyball

CHELSEA RECREATIONAL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL is a developmental program created for players with varying skill levels where we focus on child development on and off the court. It is our goal to teach the fundamentals of volleyball (pass, set, serve, hit) while encouraging a love of the game.

The Program is for children 8 years to 14 years of age. Players are required to register and attend a player evaluation prior to the start of each season. Each player will then be placed on a team after evaluations and contacted by their coach about practice times and game times. The locations of practices/games may vary between the following: Chelsea Community Center, Forest Oak Elementary School, Chelsea Middle School, Chelsea High School, and Chelsea Park Elementary School.

The Chelsea Community Center hosts a Fall and a Spring Season each year. A typical season will last 7-9 weeks and play 6-10 games, depending on the time of year.

While both seasons focus on fundamentals and basic knowledge of the game, the intent of each season somewhat differs. The Fall league will include more games with true rally scoring and an end-of-season tournament. The Spring league will not have as many competition dates and will be more instructional-based competitive drills/games with and end of season tournament.
