Biography
Scott Weygand has been a resident of Chelsea since 2007. His family has owned land here in the Chelsea area since the 1940’s. Scott grew up working on a farm here in Chelsea until he went to the University of Alabama. He and his wife, Liz, have three children, Maralyn, Emalyn, and Laurence, and attend Church of the Highlands. Scott is a coach in the Chelsea Youth Club, and is an active member in the Chelsea Kiwanis Club. He has been an Ambassador for the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce and served as the Treasurer on the Board for The Owens House. He also served on the City of Chelsea, Planning and Zoning committee, starting in 2012, and was elected to City Council in 2016. Scott has owned and operated his insurance agency in Chelsea since 2005, and enjoys being a part of the growing business community within the City.
