Mission: “The mission of the Chelsea Parks and Recreation is to provide diverse year-round leisure opportunities through the preservation of open space, park settings, recreational facilities and programs for all citizens of Chelsea in order to grow leadership, character, and an avenue to develop life lessons.”
Bart Pettus grew up in Demopolis, Al where he graduated from Demopolis High School before he attended and played baseball at Troy University. After graduating from Troy University in 2010 with a degree in Sport Management, he began working for the City of Troy Parks and Recreation as the Adult Sports Coordinator and Assistant Youth Sports Coordinator from 2010 through 2019 before arriving in Chelsea as the Park and Recreation Director in April of 2019. His wife’s name is Megan Pettus and their daughter’s name is Bennett Pettus. They are excited to call Chelsea home and look forward to serving the City of Chelsea and the community.
