City Anniversary-
Chelsea was incorporated on March 1, 1996 with a population of 906. The 2000 census recorded a population or 2,949. As of the 2010 census, the population of Chelsea top 10,000. The growth is a reflection of annexation and new home construction.
Chelsea Named Tree City USA-
Chelsea has been named a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation to honor our commitment to community forest. It is the sixth year that Chelsea has received this national recognition. Thanks to the Chelsea Tree Commission (Judy Cain, Mavis Efferson, Katie Griffith, Jim Harper, and Sharon Johnson).
April-Support Your Chelsea Business Month-
We must support our local Chelsea businesses in order to be the best city that we can be. The City of Chelsea will not be successful without the success of our local businesses. Let’s make a special effort in April to support our merchants in Chelsea. When we support our local merchants we create jobs, revenue for the City of Chelsea, and conveniences for our people. Without support, our businesses will not survive. With your help, APRIL WILL BE A RECORD MONTH FOR OUR MERCHANTS.
